Public Enemy #1 Paris Lenon brings depth and controversy |
This is Paris Lenon. And he a bad man. Dare I say, better than Wesley Woodyard?
If you are a fan and you haven't been watching, the Broncos think he's better and Wesley "The Captain" Woodyard ain't none too happy about it. Not only is he not happy, the word is that those who support him on the team are not happy either and some of the failures on the field against the Chargers are being pointed to this rift.
Here is the deal. In modern football, not only does the offense have a headphone on the field which the quarterback wears, the quarterback of the defense has a similar headphone. Up until now, that headphone has been in the helmet of Woodyard who is not only a team captain, but an inspirational leader on the field. The Broncos don't think he is as effective against the run. At least not as effective as Lenon and the tape backs them up. Right now the head phone is on Danny Trevathan, who is an every down player instead of Woodyard who is splitting time with Lenon.
The Broncos have overcome a lot of challenges this season, but this is the kind that can destroy chemistry, which is the biggest element in the championship formula. This is when I like to remind readers that power always demands wisdom.
Go team. Go Broncos. Keep Wesley in your thoughts.
