Affluenza: This may be a new strain, but the illness is not new.

I would do more research and come up with the name of the young boy who they say had a bout of Affluenza as a defense for killing people in an auto accident, but I would like to make a bigger point that makes his name unimportant.

When Brandy Norwood paid to settle a dispute over a car wreck that she had in which someone got killed, did she have Affluenza?  Did Kobe have Affluenza when he put to bed a rape charge and smoothed things over quickly with his wife?  OJ, Jayson Williams, Lindsay Lohan?  Wealth matters in America, especially in the courts.  Poor people do not have an equal opportunity or equal treatment even in the courts,
which are supposed to be the arbiters of justice.

Unfortunately, a lot of people are looking at the race of this young boy more so than  the color of his parents money.  The statement that we should learn from these kind of stories is not that rich white kids get treated differently, but that because of classism,  Racism is over in America.
