I will remember so many great things about a truly great man, but I was inspired by the memories shared recently by President Bill Cllinton. Clinton, when going through some of his trials as a President had a moment to ask Mandela how did he survive all of those years in prison and not grow to hate his oppressor.
Mandela in response tells Clinton that he had to realize that while they had the power to take everything away from him, they could not take his heart and his mind unless he gave them away and he decided not to give them away. Then he reminded Clinton, "and neither should you".
Neither should we.
