Gun Sense Makes Sense...Unless You Are Talking About Bans

GUNSENSE makes sense, unless you are talking about bans.
I hate guns except in the hands of law enforcement, but I realize that banning them will be as effective as prohibition.

In fact,  I would love liberals against guns to paint the picture of what this process looks like and how it will save children.  If we pass gun legislation tomorrow will there be a big long hand in your weapon line with criminals in the front, clergy in a special line and kids who kill kids at school in the far, far back (they carry makeshift bombs you know)?  We need to really talk about what will save our children.  All of them. For the short moments that we actually redirect this conversation back to our children, we have a tendency to only see the slain as victims forgetting the survivors, the parents of the survivors, the parents of the shooters, the shooters, the people who loved the shooter and now have to carry the shame.........the kids at near by schools who are frightened to go back for a while.

The rest of this war on crime, war on drugs, war on gun nonsense is just that.  Nonsense. Much like the nonsensical idea of putting more guns everywhere to deter or kill more mentally ill/suicidal children.   With either idea, we will look like we did going to war in Iraq to ease our pain over 9-11.  It felt good until we realized it served no purpose. Not only did we lose people in the towers, we added casualties from a feel good war (anybody vote for more drones in hindsight?)

How are we going to justify that first accidental shooting because some paranoid pistol packer got trigger happy in our school? Ask police how difficult it is to have clear discernment when using a weapon; and how terribly difficult it is to recover from even a righteous kill, especially of a kid.   Conversely, what happens when 10 years from now we have continued killings in our schools even after we change the laws to stop it.  Every politician who pushed these laws will look like Obama  trying to explain the ACA grandfathering clause to mad citizens.

So what will it take?  Real talk!  SquareBiz.

Answer:  Is out failure with white male youth costing us lives?
