GOP Goes All-In Against ObamaCare. How Much Is At Risk?

Do kids still grow up with the dream of going into politics?

If concussions in football are having an effect on parent's decision to allow their kids to participate, the current climate in congress could have a similar impact on politics.  The novelty of a black president certainly created an electorate awakening, but was it nothing more than two historic turnouts and a return to disinterest?

Republican's were out savvied by the Obama campaign machine.  The enormity of this social media fingerprint has been chronicled, and has gone nowhere. Barack Obama's legacy might be many things, but this organized campaign monster that he has at his disposal might be the most impressive.  He probably promised it to Bill in exchange for his help in "splaining stuff" during the last presidential campaign, but which other candidates will gain benefit from the Obama affect.

The current attack on this president is as much a war against this concern as it is this man.  His credibility could be disastrous to the GOP if they do not succeed at soiling his character.  Determining the GOP line of attack is not always clear because they are throwing everything at the wall to see what will stick (Benghazi is being held up with duck tape).  The overall theme is this trust gap narrative which takes a lot of supposition to sell, so they've determined one non-negotiable.  Attack Obamacare.

A smart republican interested in their own legacy would move quickly to join the repair ObamaCare team, but that ship has sailed too.  How do you join into the fix without creating more of the disruptions you've complained about?  Make it a smooth fix and you will strengthen the law which insures that it stays and adds to the Obama campaign machine that will kill you in the end. For the GOP, this law has to go away.

What we are witnessing from republicans is a rarely seen action in the game of politics.  They have taken their chips and went all-in against ObamaCare.  The flop was not strong but it is the last hand that they have to play. Enrollment numbers are now rising, so the GOP has moved to simply dispute them hoping they catch something good on the river.  If they lose 2014 elections as a result of ObamaCare, they still have the duty of attacking the bully pulpit in order to weaken all democratic candidates, especially Hillary Clinton in 2016, so republicans are going for broke.  Aside from a firm grip on the House of Rep's, it's conceivable that republicans could be pushing their mountain to the middle while pushing their future control of Washington back 4, 6, 8 years or more.

I've played poker.  Sometimes you get the card you need.  Mostly you lose your money. You simply have to know when to fold 'em.
